Ivory Coast, an exceptionally carved anthropomorphic feast-spoon; the legs and buttocks carved with a delicate sensuality, the attenuated body and ladle perfectly balancing the composition. A lizard or crocodile carved in low relief to the reverse of the bowl. Dark lustrous patina from use and handling.
