One of Fords longest-running model designations, the Escort remained in production for over 30 years, evolving through Mks I to VI between 1968 and 2001. One of the rarest and most desirable variants was the Escort Cabriolet, the styling of which was entrusted to Fords wholly owned European subsidiary, Carrozzeria Ghia. The car offered here is an example of the MkV Escort, which was a new introduction in 1990 and front-wheel drive like its immediate predecessor. This two-door cabriolet model has enjoyed only three owners and is presented in very good/excellent condition, having covered some 82,200-or-so miles from new. The car is unmodified and boasts a most comprehensive specification, being equipped with the five-speed gearbox, power operated hood (in excellent condition), heated front and rear screens, central locking, alloy wheels, electric windows (x4), electric mirrors, electric aerial, power assisted steering, radio cassette with graphic equaliser, tinted windows and an effective alarm system. Finished in Aqua Blue metallic with grey cloth interior, J423 EUG comes with full history file containing service invoices and all expired MoTs. The car is offered with current road fund licence, MoT to March 2008 and Swansea V5C registration document.
