by Moulinié Boutte & Moynier, and marked in script on the rim "Moulinié Boutte & Moynier à Genève" Geneva circa 1815,
profusely decorated with foliate scrolls and flower heads, applied oval thumb piece, the interior cover engraved "Given to John Duke Lord Coleridge by the Rt. Honble. Sir David Dundas Q. C January 1877".

  • John Duke Lord Coleridge (1820-1894) was the nephew of the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. A lawyer, judge and liberal politician, he was also Lord Chief justice of England from 1880 until his death.

    Sir David Dundas Q.C (1799-1877) was a Scottish lawyer and politician. in 1846 he was made Solicitor General for England and Wales and knighted. He was elected to represent Sutherland as a liberal politician in 1840.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
