Although the precise date of publicaion is not certain, it is advertised in The Young Sportsman's Delight and Instructor of 1712, and differs little in terms of content, with the angling section comprising some 80 of the 140 pages. The only copy listed as having appeared at auction since 1975 is the one from the John Simpson Library, sold in these rooms on 15 February 2005.

Provenance: with the bookplate of Hugh Tempest Sheringham, and a pencilled note recording that the present copy was sold to Quaritch in the W. Keith Rollo sale of 1935, and subsequently to the Duke of Gloucester, at whose sale it was again bought by Quaritch in 1949.
