The lid centred by a large mother-of-pearl carved shell centred by a woman at a shrine amid flowers and trees, flanked by a pair of engraved fruiting cornucopia, within a gilt brass border decorated with flowers and tendrils with a floral garland border set with imitation garnets, the sides decorated to the upper section with panel of mother-of-pearl engraved with gardening implements and associated motifs, the lower section with an engraved mother-of-pearl escutcheon panel flanked by eight verre eglomise floral panels, on leaf mounted gilt claw feet, the interior with ruched silk lid panel above a tray with embroidered vase form pincushion, a pair of mother-of-pearl silk winders pierced and carved with bows, arrows and quivers and set in circular mirror back compartments, a mother-of-pearl bodkin, a conforming stiletto, a mother-of-pearl thimble with carved border, two pairs of steel balded scissors with pierced and carved mother-of-pearl handles to plain loops, a mother-of-pearl tambour hook, a paperknife, and a finely carved mother-of-pearl cornucopia needlecase, larger pair of scissors lacking one pansy mark, the musical movement with 6cm cylinder, complete with a finely coloured embroidered tool squab centred by a cornucopia, the box 22cm.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £2,500 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £2,500 up to and including £300,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £300,000 up to and including £3,000,000;
and 13.9% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £3,000,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
