A Dutch 16-Bore Snider Conversion Military Musket

With sighted barrel retained by three spring-held iron barrel bands, the forward one with shaped piercing and also forming the ramrod-entry, flat circular fore-sight and calibrated pivoting back-sight, pivoting breech-block stamped 'P. Stevens Maastricht', flat bevelled lock numbered '49' and struck with inspector's mark above, figured walnut three-quarter stock (some bruising overall) stamped with indistinct circular Delft arsenal mark on the right side of the butt, and regulation iron mounts struck with inspector's marks and conversion mark including dated butt-plate with cancelled serial number above '31' on the heel tang (ramrod missing, iron parts with some patination overall)
