With sighted barrel retained by a single iron barrel band carrying a catch for the folding bayonet of hollow triangular section secured in the open position by a sprung catch on the right side at the muzzle, the dated breech struck with inspector's marks including those of Captain P.F. Bullot and J. Schneider, tang dated '1815' and with back-sight, flat bevelled lock numbered '27', struck with inspector's mark of Benoit Saltzherr and with remains of brass pan with indistinct maker's mark of P.J. Wilmart, walnut half-stock stamped with various marks including inspector's mark of J.C. Heym on the left side of the butt, regulation iron and brass mounts including dated butt-plate stamped 'KM' (for Koninklijke Marechaussee), the serial number below, fore-end cap also forming the ramrod-pipe and with extension secured by the barrel band, brass and iron suspension loops, and original iron ramrod
