With sighted barrel retained by a single iron barrel band, plain tang with back-sight, flat bevelled lock with remains of brass pan and ring-topped hammer chequered on the inside, walnut half-stock (some worming behind the barrel tang, small repair at the front and tail of the lock), regulation iron and brass mounts including butt-plate and fore-end cap, the former dated and stamped '1D' (for 1st Dragoon regiment), the serial number below, the latter also forming the ramrod-pipe and with extension secured by the barrel band, and iron ramrod, probably original
