• The lot comes with warrant for the C.B.E. dated 1.1.1955 and M.B.E. dated 3.6.1918. All three were awarded to Mrs K.Lovibond (nee Pearce). Sold with a newspaper cutting printed after her award of the CBE.
  
  She was awarded her MBE and OBE for WW1 service with the WRAF, and was a public servant of Uxbridge for many years. She was a county councillor from 1928 until the end of the war and served as chairman of important county council committees. Since 1934 she had been a magistrate, and had served as chairman of the juveile court since its inception. Her work on the local Hospital Management committee she took very seriously and she spent Christmas Day touring the four local hospitals for many hours. Her most recent appointment was to the Governament committee appointed to inquire into the laws relating to homosexual offences and prostitution, and this kept her very busy on top of all her work. As a delegate to the annual conference of the Women's Conservative Association she moved a resolution for the restoration of birching for offences "involving premeditated violence" whether by adults or juveniles.
