A very fine Piguet & Meylan gold, enamel and pearl musical snuff box,
Swiss, circa 1820, case probably by Remond,
the platform or "sur plateau" movement with twenty seven teeth mounted on the lower side of the bed-plate and stamped "P & M 2439", the case with makers mark "R" in lozenge, probably Remond, also with a crowned "R" mark and incuse stamped to rim 3439, set in gold and enamel case with engine turned decoration, the lid with coloured enamel of a scene depicting Diana, Jupiter and Juno by a French follower of David, surrounded by blue enamel and gold border highlighted with seed pearls, in red leather travelling case
