1971 Morris Mini Cooper 1275 ‘S’ Saloon
Registration no. JBY 7K
Chassis no. XAD1395245A
Engine no. 12H397FH1316
Offering a size/price/performance package that was nothing short of miraculous, the 1,275cc Cooper ‘S’ was the ultimate Mini of its day; pumping out 76bhp while remaining exceptionally flexible and good for a genuine 100mph - an astonishing performance at the time.
Restored to original specification in 2005, this superb example has covered a mere 20 miles since completion and will require further running in. Work undertaken has included a complete bodyshell strip-down and professional refurbishment; re-spray in original Teal Blue livery; engine bay detailing to ‘show’ condition; engine rebuild by Rob Walker Engineering (including new Tuftrided crankshaft); transmission and all other mechanical components restored or replaced. The seat covers and headlining are new, as are the tyres and battery. The car is offered with restoration invoices, Swansea V5 document and complete DVLA trace of previous owners. Dating from the last year of production, it is reported as standard throughout with the exception of a period wood-rim steering wheel
