Footnotes

  • This almost certainly unique DBS combines the muscular good looks of Aston’s luxurious Granturismo with the effortless power of Jaguar’s silky-smooth 5.3-litre V12 engine (as fitted to the Series III E-Type sports car and XJ12 luxury saloon) coupled to the five-speed manual gearbox. Owned by the vendor since 1970, the car underwent extensive renovation between 1999 and 2000, the chassis arms being rebuilt, the sills strengthened, new front/rear screens fitted, a bare-metal re-spray carried out, the brakes and servos overhauled, and the limited-slip rear axle rebuilt by Aston Engineering. The Jaguar engine was fitted in 2004. This DBS is used as an everyday vehicle by the vendor, who reports that the fuel-injected V12 engine is much more efficient than the original Aston ‘six’. Described as ‘a car to be used, not shown’, it is offered with restoration invoices, current road fund licence, MoT to February 2007 and Swansea V5 document.
