BRONTË (CHARLOTTE)
Three classical profiles, drawn in pencil, attributed to Charlotte Brontë; with a note on the reverse by John Rooker Junior, stating he had bought it from Mr Riley of Ilkley on 9 August 1894 and that he "in 1886" had bought it "with many other things" from Martha Brown "living then at Saltaire", and that Riley "stated that Martha declared it was C.B's first"; docketed in a different hand in pencil "Charlotte's 1st", on an oblong folio sheet of buff limp card, section removed at lower left, 190 x 275mm.
