Footnotes

  • Daimler’s V8 250 adopted the compact but ultra-stylish bodyshell of the Mark II Jaguars but used an all-new smooth V8 2 1/2 litre engine designed by Edward Turner of Triumph motorcycle fame. It was opulently appointed and externally readily distinguishable by the fluted radiator grille of the Daimler marque. The interior was furnished with finest quality vaumol leather hide upholstery, deep pile carpets and a polished, figured walnut instrument panel. Road tested by ‘Autocar’ in 1966 the model recorded a maximum speed of 113mph and overall fuel consumption of 19.3mpg.

This car has been in the present ownership for about ten years and is believed to have had just three previous owners from new. The indicated mileage of 58,935 miles is believed genuine. It is presented in indigo blue livery, retaining its original grey leather upholstery and is to automatic specification. A stainless steel exhaust system is fitted and the car comes with radio and original tools. The car comes from private enthusiast ownership and has been carefully maintained in a heated garage. It is offered with a Swansea registration document, old style log book, current MoT and road fund licence together with maintenance and service books and old MoT certificates.
