  • Cavallo was born in Naples. His collaboration with James Lind began in around 1791 when they invented a method of taking a life-size silhouette and then reducing it with a pantograph. This they then printed as a solid black.

    Elijah Impey was Chief Justice of Bengal and a life-long friend of Warren Hastings.

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
