New Pamphengos Twin Lantern set, W. C. Hughes London; matching mahogany bodied magic lanterns each with lacquered brass fittings and black finished metal lamphouse tops, W. C. Hughes lacquered brass cased projection lenses, condensers, side opening lamphouse doors, W. C. Hughes patent Pamphengos spirit burners with reflectors and chimneys, each lantern labelled "W. C. Hughes Patentee Brewster House Mortimer Rd Kingsland London N"; metal spirit canister, funnel, spare wick, and fine net panels,

McAllister Magic Lanterns, for 3 1/4 slides marked "McAllister Optician New York" Black enamel and brass finish built in lamp with large oil tank. Cast iron top with tall telescopic chimney, cast open frame base, Ht. 50cm. (19 3/4 inch), together with another.

Magic Lantern slides, all wood mounted comprising mahogany mounted 3 1/4 inch square and circular astronomical slides, 9 similar mounted Oddfellows series slides one stamped "Mcintosh Stereopticon Co. Chicago", five slipper slides, eight Continental European views, thirteen sketched circular image slides mounted in white wood , one with four slides mounted in a white wood frame and one long slide. Magic Lantern slides, all hand coloured unless stated, comprising four full size chromatropes, Vesuvius: eruption and crater, Beehive, Water Mill, another 3 x 5 1/2 inches five single slip slides including a dancing skeleton, one single slip "Gute Nacht" lithograph slide, nine long slides 2 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches, four wood framed long slides 4 x 14 1/4 inches, four smaller similar, a toy chromatrope and slipper slide and a few boxed autochrome and Paget slides and sundries. Kaleidoscopic Magic Lantern lens, mid to late 19th century; not marked but exactly as made by C. & F. Darker London who sold projection Kaleidoscopes from 1866.

Colour Pulley Slide by Newton, Mid 19th century, mahogany mounted: a single pulley slide with brass crank wheel driving a colour segmented disk via a cord. The colours merge on rotation to "white." Stamped "Newton & Co. Opticians 3 Fleet St." Cord tension is adjustable by moving and clamping the crank wheel.

Magic Lantern illuminants and parts five limelight illuminants including mixer jets, a gas light illuminant and four jet model, three on metal trays together with a spirit illuminant with tank and nozzle for jet and holder for Incandescent mantle. Nickel plated, with funnel for filling the tank, a steel wick trimmer, sundry lantern tools, chimney and parts and brass screws.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
