A Nimschke engraved Colt single action army revolver

A Nimschke engraved Colt single action army revolver
Serial no. 12639 for 1874, .45 caliber. 7 1/2 inch barrel. Engraved in the L.D. Nimschke shop, with scrollwork panels on barrel, frame, cylinder, triggerguard and gripstrap, with web panels on the gripstrap apron and loading gate, gripstrap and top of barrel with entwined linework often seen of Nimschke work and with stars and panels of pineapple checkering on the forward section of frame. Elephant ivory grips, the left side relief-carved with Mexican eagle and snake.
Condition: Very good. Smooth grey metal retaining slight traces of nickel finish, mainly on triggerguard/gripstrap. Trigger hand broken. Some screws possibly replaced. Grips with mellow age patina showing some wear to carved motifs.
