Two nephrite carvings of mythical animals
17th Century or Later
The first a crouching bixie with single curling horn, curving wings to the front legs and flame-shaped tufts of hair to the back legs, the pale grey-green matrix displaying russet staining to the natural hairline fissures; the second a yellow jade beast of feline type with a transverse drill hole through its snout and a saddle cloth across its chubby back, the yellow-green matrix displaying pale to dark russet inclusions and veins (chip).
