A Federal mahogany inlaid tall case clock

The hood with swan's neck pediment and carved sunflower bosses divided and flanked by brass finials above inlaid panels depicting flowering urns above an arched glazed door opening to a white painted dial with spandrels representing the Four Seasons, calendar dial, Arabic chapter ring, a moon phase aperture painted with an eagle with a shield and the figure of Hope with an anchor, and an inset medallion pianted with Father Time, signed Benjamin Witman, READING, above a waisted case with cockbeaded door centering a medallion inlaid with an eagle standing on a tree stump holding a shield with thirteen vertical stripes and eight horizontal stripes, a pennant with sixteen stars in his mouth, between line inlaid stiles over a box base with chevron banding and a flowering urn above a scalloped apron raised on French feet.
