1986 AC Cobra 427 Replica
Chassis no. COB322588
Built by the Contemporary Classic Motor Co. in the USA, this evocation of the ultimate 7 litre 'Big Block' Cobra 427 promises similar performance to the original, which for over two decades held the crown as the world's fastest accelerating sports car. Contemporary magazine testers found that the 7 litre Cobra was capable of hitting 60mph from standstill in just over four seconds, and would top out at over 170mph- phenomenal figures for the mid-1960s, especially for an open two seater roadster with almost no weather protection! If ever there was a man's car, this was it.

The car's accurate exterior appearance features wide body fibreglass 427 style coachwork, side exhausts, drivers roll hoop, outside fuel filler and Centreline alloy wheels. Inside the cockpit there are modern racing seats, Simpson harnesses, Auto Meter racing instruments, fire extinguisher, small diameter Grant steering wheel and the classic Hurst shifter. Under the bonnet, the heart of the beast is a 7 litre Ford V8 said to develop close to 500bhp, fitted with an Edelbrock manifold and 427 headers.

Acquired in Miami by the vendor in 1993 and imported to Italy the same year but never registered, this potent American sports car has covered just 3,300 miles and guarantees adrenalin fuelled motoring!
