1935 Bentley 3.5-Litre Drophead Coupe
Coachwork by Park Ward

Chassis no. B190FB
Launched in 1933, two years after the Rolls-Royce take-over, Bentley’s ‘Silent Sportscar’, as it was quickly dubbed, had few peers as a tireless long-distance tourer, combining as it did traditional Rolls-Royce refinement with Bentley performance and handling. As befitted its sporting nature, the ‘Derby’ Bentley was almost always fitted with owner-driver saloon or drophead coupé coachwork, the ‘standard’ designs - of which the car offered here is a particularly fine example - being the work of Park Ward.

‘Love at first sight’ prompted Jean-Pierre Beltoise to purchase this undeniably elegant car from fellow racer David Piper, using his prize money from the 1972 Brands Hatch Race of Champions, which he won for BRM. Restored by ex-Rover dealer Marcel Bonhour and finished in almond green livery as chosen by Jean-Pierre Beltoise, the car was then displayed att the ‘Centre International de l’Automobile in Pantin’ as the landmark of the 30’s. It is presented in very good condition and comes with owner’s handbook, French Carte de collection. The epitome of British elegance.
