Lot Details
180 km from new, still unregistered
1985 Citroen BX 4TC
Chassis no. XL3024
Based on the immensely successful BX five-door hatchback and homologated in time for the 1986 season, the BX 4TC was Citroen’s sole attempt at a Group B rallycar. The BX bodyshell was modified to accommodate a turbo-charged 2.2-litre from Simca-Chrysler four cylinders mounted inline rather than transversely - and four-wheel drive transmission, and with about 300 bhp on tap the BX 4TC had the potential to be competitive. However, the banning of Group B supercars at the end of 1986 left insufficient time for development and the car was retired after just one season, its best World Championship result having been 6th place in Sweden.

This rare Group B supercar was given to Jean-Pierre Beltoise by Citroën Compétition and has covered a mere 180 kilometres since leaving the factory, although it has regularly been turned over. One of just 200 examples constructed for homologation purposes, it is presented in effectively ‘as new’ condition, is unregistered and offered with original delivery note.
