Each with 13 inch two-stage barrel in .57 caliber smoothbore with round front section, moulded girdle and deeply fluted rear section signed Lazarino Cominazzo. Steel fore-sights. Flat, unsigned locks engraved with scrollwork. Blued pan springs with leaf-shaped finials. Gilt brass furniture with cast and chased decoration comprising fore-end caps featuring classical busts and scrollwork; faceted ramrod thimbles, the lower with acanthus finials; triggerguards with classical busts, scrollwork and grotesque masks; sideplates with a scene of cavalry in early 18th century dress and two nude prisoners bound to a column; crowned wrist escutcheons with oval panels of classical busts over double-headed eagles; spurred buttcaps with grotesque masks framed by panels of scrollwork and scenes of classical figures. Full walnut stocks relief-carved with scrollwork at the barrel tangs and lower ramrod thimbles and with simple panels framing the locks and triggerguards. Ramrods with gilt brass tips, one with replaced wood.
Condition: Excellent and showing little evidence of use. Barrels and locks with smooth grey metal showing light spotting. One lock with light pitting and wear to engraving, mainly on pan, and with tip of cock spur removed. Screwheads and pan springs retain much blue finish. Furniture retains 98 percent gilt finish. Excellent wood with minor blemishes, scattered small hairline cracks, one with some chipping in front of lock, the other with small restored area below lock, both with pieced section above butt at rear triggerguard finial.
