Footnotes

  • David J Bowen was Welsh Lightweight Boxing Champion and travelled with his friend Leslie Williams. They were travelling together to America to fight in their respective World Championships and took the train from Tenby to Southampton to join the RMS TITANIC. He sent a letter to his mother and wife describing the ship and included his warrant. Bowen did not survive the disaster and his body was never found.
