1955 DKW Sonderklasse 3-6
Serial Number to be Advised
In 1934 the Chrysler Corporation took a bold new step with the streamlined Airflow. The Airflow may have retained the straight eight of its predecessor Chryslers, but the looks were all new. Instead of the long stately hood of the company's more traditional products, there was a stubby prow in front of a roomy cabin that moved the occupants forward of the rear axle.

Beautifully-engineered and well-built, the streamlined Airflows were considered homely and simply didn't sell despite a vastly stronger and safer body shell and passenger compartment, reduced noise due to lower drag coefficient, better ride and modern hydraulic brakes.

Having covered only 54,763 miles, this Airflow sedan still has its lovely wood-grained metal dash, rear view mirror with clock, Champion hot water heater and rear fender skirts. It also retains its original broad cloth interior.

Stored for many years, it should be a simple matter to recommission this sound example of Chrysler's bold new car of the future.
