Matted solid rib with single white bead. Two gold bands at breech. Brush-bright finished, sculpted, sideplated box-lock action. Action engraved with very fine foliate scroll and game scenes: left lock, pair of English setters flushing a pair of woodcocks in a woodland setting; right lock, pair of Brittany spaniels flushing a pair of grouse in a woodland setting. Engraving with burnished highlights. Bottom of the action: Brittany spaniel with a grouse. Flushing pheasant on triggerguard. Engraver's name on triggerplate. Carved fences with floral design. Double triggers, with front articulated. Ejectors. Pierced triggerguard in a floral design. Non-automatic safety. 1/8 inch diameter plug below screw on bottom of the sideplates on both sides. Very finely checkered stock of dark highly figured walnut. Chain-style border on checkering. Browning hard rubber buttplate. Very finely checkered three-piece fore-end.
Condition: Excellent, showing very little use. Small areas of extremely fine pitting on left lock and top strap.
