1951 Vincent Rapide Series C 1000cc

Engine #F10AB/1/6142
Ever since the Series A's arrival in 1937, the Vincent V-twin has been synonymous with design, innovation, engineering excellence and superlative high performance. From Rollie Free's capture of the 'worlds fastest production motorcycle' record in 1948 on a specially prepared machine from the Vincent race department, to the fully enclosed Black Knight and Prince models, Phil Vincent's stress on performance and appearance is legendary. His machines bristled with innovative features: adjustable brake pedal, foot rests, seat height and gear change lever. The finish was to a very high standard commensurate with the cost of the machine which was double that of any of its contemporaries.
@ This example is an older restoration, ridden regularly, having been brought to the USA from England in 1988. Several modern modifications: Amal Mark II carburetors, and Accront rims have been fitted. In addition a top-end overhaul was recently done be the now-deceased Vincent specialist Dick Busby. Overall, this is a very tidy machine well suited for Vincent rider/enthusiast.
