A George II sampler worked in silk threads to linen ground with a neatly worked rectangle entited 'Fortitude and Innocence',
depicting a lady in a white gown and sah carrying a spear and shield with feathers in her hair standing by a lamb with the sun, moon and stars behing her. Flanked by flowering jardiniers and birds and above five morality and religious verses further decorated by a butterly and flowers, inscribed 'Swanna Burrow. Her work finished July 1st 1813. Aged 11', enclosed within a circular foliate abd floral wreath, the whole enclosed by a simple castelated border, a.f. 48 x 30cm, glazed and framed.
