Footnotes

  • John Powell is recorded as a 'china enameller', working from various London addresses circa 1813-20. He is particularly associated with his premises at 91 Wimpole Street, as porcelain is occasionally found marked with this address together with his name. For an account of Powell's activities, see Oliver Fairclough, ECC Trans. Vol. 16, pt. 2, 'The London China Trade 1800-1830'.
