An important pair of Worcester vases
circa 1770-75
of hexagonal baluster shape, the tall necks everted at the rim, fully decorated with the famille verte 'Dragons in Compartments' pattern, comprising alternating panels of dragons and vases, all on low tables, spandrels above and below of green shagreen and iron red, the neck and rim with a cell border in red reserved with stylised flowerhead panels edged in blue, the details and rims all picked out in gold, the bases with a broad border of a gilt diaper design reserved with roundels, 25cm (9 7/8in) (minor wear, cracks and break in one neck restored) (2)
