both in the Meissen style, the saucer painted with a full-blown pink rose on a formal flower spray with scattered sprigs and a brown line rim, 12.4cm, the cup with a formal bouquet also featuring a central rose and formal scattered sprigs, 4.5cm high, both pieces with crossed swords and 9. marks in underglaze blue (2)

  • This is the first time Worcester used their curious version of the Meissen crossed swords mark. The shape is copied directly from contemporary Meissen porcelain. Blue and white versions of this shape and pattern were also made at Worcester, copying Meissen exactly, even down to the blue-painter’s number ‘9.’ used on the base

Buyers' Premium and Charges

For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £2,500 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £2,500 up to and including £300,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £300,000 up to and including £3,000,000;
and 13.9% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £3,000,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
