Late 19th century, the rectangular top with boxwood inlay and crossbanded edge, below is a fluted frieze incorporating a single frieze drawer and divided by carved patarae, on square fluted legs and spade feet. 87cm high x 214cm wide x 69cm deep

  • Matthew Morisonn 1752-1824 who was a cabinet maker based in Ayr entered into partnership with his son James inn 1813. In 1827 they relocated the business to Edinburgh. A shop was opened at 78 George Street in 1853. In 1905 the shop moved to Charlotte Square. This table is closely related to those commissioned from, and completed by Morison & Co. for a privately owned Scottish castle.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
