the D-shaped foldover top above a foliate marquetry inlaid frieze, below is an ebonised gesso stem with acanthus and fluted motifs, the quadrapartite plinth on shaped stylised bracket feet, 74cm high x 87cm wide x 44cm deep,

  • Although there are no card tables of this exact shape in George Bullock's known repertoire, the designs of the inlaid brasswork are most comparable to tables he supplied to Blair Castle, Perthshire, 1814 (Blair Castle Archives, Bundle 699) and to the British Government for Napoleon Bonaparte's Drawing Room on St Helena, 1815 (See Martin Levy, 'Napoleon in Exile: The House and Furniture Supplied by the British Government for the Emperor Napoleon and his Entourage on St Helena' Furniture History vol XXXIV, 1998.

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
