With sighted barrel retained by three spring-held barrel bands, folding back-sight, sprung hinged breech-block retaining some original blueing, secured by a spring thumb-catch on the right side, and dated 1866 above an eagle head, bevelled lock with American eagle, 'U.S. Springfield' and dated 1865 on the tail, full stock (minor bruising) stamped with traces of inspector's mark opposite the lock, iron mounts comprising butt-plate and trigger-guard, sling loops, and original cleaning/cartridge-extracting rod
