With sighted barrel retained by three spring-held barrel bands, the forward one carrying the fore-sight and also forming the ramrod-entry, calibrated folding back-sight (adjuster missing), characteristic flat bevelled lock with hinged tape cover, and stamped 'Remington's Illion. N.Y. 1856 U.S.' across the tail, full stock (chipped and repaired around the lock), steel mounts including side-plate all numbered '2', sling loops, and iron ramrod (some wear overall)
