The Asquith Shetland was built by the Asquith Motor Carriage Ltd of Essex in the style of Morris’s 1929 5cwt van. The Shetland was built upon the Reliant Fox chassis and powered by that company’s 850cc alloy engine, driving through a four-speed gearbox. The vintage style van coachwork was constructed in fibreglass and offered a practical payload area of almost 60cu.ft. and 7 1/2cwt capacity.
This example, in Patrick Collection livery, was bought new in 1987 at a cost of £11,245 plus VAT. It has covered just 4,967 miles since then at the time of cataloguing. This vehicle is offered with a Swansea V5 registration document, a quantity of Asquith literature, specification sheets, etc, old MoTs, Swansea V5 document and current MoT to May 2005. The new owner will be required to remove the lettering and logos from the vehicle.
