Hong Kong:

1880 (1st. March-Sept) 10c. on 16c. yellow, variety surcharge inverted, used with lightly struck “B62” cancellation, a few clipped perfs. at base, very fresh appearance, probably the finest example in private hands. B.P.A. Certificate (2004). S.G. 26a, £75,000.
Only half a dozen examples of the 10c. on 16c. inverted are known, one is in the Royal Collection (with “A1” cancel) and another in the Lagerlof Collection in the Swedish Postal Museum. This is one of the rarest stamps of Hong Kong. This recent discovery was found in an old untouched Lallier album consigned to us for auction. (216)

Postal Fiscals: 1885 registered envelope bearing 1860-71 3d. pink die C Inland Revenue with "2-4-60" date plugs, cancelled by London barred numera, rare and unpriced used on cover.

Railways: 1879-1927 small selection of covers (7), varied condition, inc. 1899 part parcel wrapper from Ingleton to Kirkby Lonsdale, bearing L.& N. W. Railway 1d. and 3d., etc.

Telegraph Stamps: 1876 5/- plate 1 HF, mint, slightly stained, otherwise fine.

1840 1d. Mixed plates: An unplated used selection on small pieces inc. a vertical pair, all with black M.C. cancels, mixed condition but some with four margins.

1840 1d. Mixed plates: 67 unplated examples, very poor to fine.

1840 1d. Mixed plates: An unplated used selection (15) mostly on small pieces, all with red M.C. cancels, also an example apparently unused on piece, mixed condition.

1840 1d. Mixed plates: An unplated used selection (16) on small pieces, all with black M.C. cancels, also 2d. (2) used, mixed condition.

1840 1d. Plate 1a: 1a to X used, poor to fair.

27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
