Miss Henrietta Nelson, of Yaxley Hall, died there on 4 April 1816, aged eighty two. By her wish she was buried in a vault in the grounds of the house, where she rested in peace until the middle of the century, when her body was removed to the family vault in Yaxley Church and the mauseleum destroyed. Since then her spirit is reputed to walk in the grounds of the Hall.
