A late 17th century burr yew wood cased bracket clock with pull quarter repeat

caddy top surmounted by a tied foliate handle over a moulded cornice and rectangular and shaped glazed side panels, the front door applied with a pierced brass fret to the upper edge and matching escutcheon plates below, on a plinth base to block feet (two right hand side feet lacking), the replacement 7 inch square brass dial with winged cherubs head spandrels, silvered chapter ring and matted centre with decorated mock pendulum aperture and ringed winding squares, the twin gut fusee movement with six knopped and finned pillars latched to the frontplate with verge escapement on a knife edge, striking the hours on a single bell and repeating the quarters on a nest of two bells via a repeat chord to the side, the fly for the repeat train mounted on a shaped bracket screwed to the backplate, signed in full "Joseph Knibb Londini Fecit" within a cartouche of twin pineapples and four foliate fronds, further decorated with flowers and foliate scrolls 38cms. (15ins.) high

25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £2,500 up to and including £300,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £300,000 up to and including £3,000,000;
and 13.9% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £3,000,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
