1992 Ginetta G33 3.9 Litre Roadster
Chassis no. SA9CXPG33CN036046
Engine no. ERC9119
Founded by the Walklett brothers, Essex-based Ginetta offered its first (kit-form) sportscar in 1957. The Ford-engined G4 series of the 1960s was the firm's first volume-production model, sales being boosted by the many race victories of the G4R. The G4 remained in production into the 1990s, spawning a number of developments, the first of which was the G27 of 1985. The G27 used Triumph Vitesse front suspension and Ginetta's own independent rear end. A wide variety of engines could be accommodated, ranging from the four-cylinder Ford units used in the G4 up to the 3.5-litre Rover V8. First seen in 1990, the G33 was a development of the G27. Hitherto, all Ginettas could be ordered in kit form, but the G33 was only available as a factory-built car. Although entirely new, the G33 body bore a strong resemblance to that of the perennial G4. Production versions used Ford Sierra Cosworth suspension and could be ordered with either a 145bhp 3.5-litre or 200bhp 3.9-litre Rover V8 engine, the latter being good for a top speed of 129mph.
Delivered new to the Netherlands, this lefthand-drive G33 has enjoyed just one owner from new and is offered with complete service history. The vendor advises us that this accident-free car has just covered c. 7,500 kilometres from new and is in very good condition, with 'like new' bodywork and interior. Finished in green with black leather interior, the car has the manual five-speed transmission and is offered with handbook, toolkit, valid Netherlands registration and roadworthiness papers.
