2001 Qvale Mangusta Coupé Targa-Roadster
Chassis no. ZF498M0000000051
De Tomaso's Bigua concept car was the new Mangusta's progenitor. Styled by Marcello Gandini (also responsible for the Lamborghini Countach and Diablo) and engineered by ex-F1 chassis man Enrique Scalabroni, the Bigua was first shown at the Geneva Salon in 1996, its creator subsequently licensing the design to Qvale, one of America's most distinguished motoring dynasties. Produced at Qvale's new factory in Modena, Italy during 2000 and 2001 only, the 150mph Mangusta is powered by a 4.6-litre, 320bhp, quad-cam V8 sourced from the Ford Mustang, with many of the car's other components, including the five-speed manual transmission, originating from the 'Blue Oval'. Cleverly, the Mangusta's roof centre section is removable, fitting into the boot, while the powered rear section can be fully retracted: thus the car can be a closed coupé, a Targa or a full convertible.

One of just 276 Qvale Mangustas made, of which a mere 18 were allocated to Europe, chassis number '051' was constructed in 2001 but has never been used or registered. Finished in grey with black leather interior, the car incorporates a host of desirable features and options including ABS, ASR, traction control, limited-slip differential, cruise control, air bags, xenon headlights, power locks and windows, air conditioning, remote alarm, anti-theft device, RC sound system and 18" alloy wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. Should the car remain in Germany, the vendor will, at his expense, arrange for TüV and German registration. MWSt/VAT (payable on the hammer price) remains the responsibility of the purchaser. The vehicle is offered with EU Certificate of Conformity, valid until 2005, which will normally suffice to obtain vehicle registration documents in any other country. Should the car remain in the EU, VAT is applicable on the hammer price and will be stated on the invoice individually. No VAT is payable for clients with a EU-Tax ID Number, or upon proof of
export.

Exportnachweis.
