Engine no. to be advised
Fuel injection first arrived on a production Mini in 1991, when the Cooper was updated as the 'Cooper 1.3i', though it would be another five years before this engine found its way into the mainstream version. When it did, in 1996, the change coincided with the switch to a front-mounted radiator with electric fan, replacing the old nearside-mounted rad with mechanically-driven fan.
Signed by Frank Hayden, its builder, this Mini 1.3i was Guest of Honour at Autocar magazine's dinner announcing that the Mini had been judged 'Car of the Century'.
