A late 16th century German brass and silver oval verge clockwatch with stackfreed and alarm

the large gilt oval movement with blued steel stackfreed (cam replaced), shaped alarm and striking train hammers and numbered, recessed countwheel, the unsprung 'dumb-bell' foliot with steel banking pin over square pillars, the oval dial with foliate scroll engraved edge enclosing a later silver roman chapter ring, later single hand and later alarm set disc, the case with (replaced) front cover decorated with foliate scrolls and strapwork around twelve pierced chapters and centre, the band with later engraved silver band and two knops, the rear cover with scroll and strapwork engraving around a pierced circular centre, the with suspension loop 90mm x 64mm
