the autographed 45rpm record signed 'Paul McCartney' in blue ballpoint, with red A printed on side A, with credit mis-spelt 'Lennon - McArtney', small sticker with typed lettering 'A 3941' (Radio Luxembourg library reference number) and '2'23"' (track timing handwritten by either Don Wardell or Barry Aldiss) on the centre, framed and mounted with a fax sent to Tony Prince from Paul McCartney authenticating this unique autographed vinyl, a Parlophone paper sleeve and plaque with engraved wording "'The World's First Beatle Record'. This record was the Radio Luxembourg Library copy inherited by DJ/Programme Director Tony Prince 'Love Me Do' 1962". Only 250 demonstration singles were produced with the mis-spelling of 'McArtney' and distributed to the band, their management, the Press and Radio Disc Jockeys. This unique demo was the first official pressing featuring John, Paul, George and Ringo on the same single, (pressed in September 1962). This rare record brought The Beatles to fame within 48 hours of being released. Provenance: Lot 213, Bonhams 'Rare Records - The Prince's Sound Jewels', November 1994.
