1997 Aston Martin DB7 Volante
1997 Aston Martin DB7 Volante
Registration no. P79 POW
Chassis no. SCFAA3114VK201441
Engine no. AM1/0401270
It was twenty-four years before a new small six-cylinder Aston Martin replaced the old DB6 engine with the 24-valve twin-cam 3.3-litre engine with water-cooled Eaton supercharger for the DB7 Coupe, launched in Geneva in 1994. Sir David Brown was delighted to lend his initials again for the DB7 as a result of the late Victor Gauntlett’s recognition in the late eighties that an entry level Aston 2+2 could challenge the S4 928 Porsche and the 500SL Mercedes. The Volante was launched to its biggest potential market in January 1996 at the Los Angeles and Detroit Motor Shows, at the same time as the Coupe. Capable of 161 mph, 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and 100 mph in a mere 14.4 seconds, the DB7 is no slouch, with 335 bhp at 5,600 rpm.

Reported to be in immaculate order with just two registered owners and only 21,000 miles on the odometer, this Buckingham Green and tan leather automatic is fitted with climate control, air-bag and CD changer. With a full service history at Stratstones and Lancaster Garages, together with Swansea V5, a new MoT accompanies this fine Volante.
