A rare earthenware mug,
circa 1820, of cylindrical shape, printed in black with a cartoon depicting George IV and Queen Caroline seated on the scales of justice, he weighted down by ‘Green Bags’ and ‘Secrets and Spies’ and pulled down by a member of the Tory Cabinet with the caption ‘Confound that Bull, what a row he makes’ and the title below ‘Rotten Ground’, Caroline seated with the caption ‘A Good Bit of Wood’, three servants behind her toasting ‘The Queen’, with the central figure of John Bull exclaiming ‘Well Done Caroline they think to make light of you, but it won’t do I’ll see fair play’, all below a pink lustre rim, 9cm high (crack to rim).£400-500* See John and Jennifer May, Commemorative Pottery, page 37

Buyers' Premium and Charges

For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
