Footnotes

The Bovet Récital 12 reference R12C2-0004, from the prestigious Dimier collection, represents a bold evolution in the independent Swiss maison's 240-year legacy of haute horlogerie. Launched in 2024 as Bovet's inaugural timepiece on a metal bracelet, it reimagines the classic dress chronometer for modern versatility—lightweight, comfortable, and refined for daily wear. This turquoise variant embodies Pascal Raffy's vision of fusing artisanal mastery with sustainable materials, drawing inspiration from the Jura Mountains surrounding Bovet's Château de Fleurier workshops.

At its core is a 40mm Grade 5 titanium case, polished and measuring just 9.8mm thick, offering hypoallergenic comfort and corrosion resistance while tipping the scales at under 100 grams complete with bracelet. The open worked dial reveals the inverted Caliber 15BMDR12C2 manual-wind movement, a 227-component marvel with 45 jewels beating at 21,600 vph. Its inverted baseplate exposes the fire-blued balance wheel and gear train through a sapphire exhibition case back, while a three-pronged seconds cage adds poetic flair. Functions include hours and minutes via an off-center sub-dial at 3 o'clock, a small seconds register, and a linear power reserve indicator—boasting an impressive 168-hour (7-day) autonomy for effortless weekend escapes. The turquoise lacquered guilloché dial, etched in a hypnotic "Lotus Flower" pattern, contrasts luminous dauphine hands and Arabic numerals, protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. A titanium folding clasp with 3mm micro-adjustment ensures seamless fit, complemented by 30m water resistance for light splashes.

Rarity elevates the R12C2-0004 to collector status: Bovet, as a boutique independent, crafts these in meticulously small batches, with global production never exceeding a few hundred annually across variants—far below mainstream luxury volumes. This turquoise edition joins just two siblings (blue R12C2-0001 and green R12C2-0002), each hand-finished for uniqueness, and marks the debut of Bovet's titanium bracelet innovation after two years of R&D. While not serially numbered, its exclusivity stems from in-house sourcing and the brand's refusal of mass production, yielding scarce availability. Recent stone-dial iterations (malachite and tiger's eye) further underscore the collection's one-of-a-kind ethos, but the R12C2-0004 remains a foundational rarity in titanium form. In a sea of steel sports watches, it whispers timeless artistry—a testament to Bovet's unyielding pursuit of the extraordinary.
