Gorgeous dark red in colour. The intense yet airy nose is redolent of dense masculine scents of oak, musk, cedar, incense, pepper and clove, notes of flowers (violet) and blue fruit (juniper, blueberry), a hint of Amsterdamer tobacco, and bark. A fresh, intense start to the palate, yet dense and powerful at the same time. Nuances of earth and pebbles surface followed by flavours of fruit and cherries, rounded out with a hint of peppermint. This is a remarkably lovely, powerful wine that boasts elegance, finesse and nice balance. Heady on the finish with a saline note and nuances of orange peel and liquorice.

Flavours of wild strawberry, clafoutis and red berry sabayon. A powerful, full-bodied wine, boasting superb cellaring potential, that will acquire further finesse and elegance over time.

These are followed by pleasing green scents of fresh herbs (basil, thyme). The nose finishes on notes of light tobacco and cedar. Fresh, subtle start to the palate, which is remarkably long and features extremely ripe cherry, liquorice and white pepper flavours. The palate is full bodied and reveals pleasing freshness.
