An early 19th century satin-birch, 'mulberry wood', ebonised and mother of pearl vanity and sewing box

The hinged lid with mirrored underside enclosing a fitted interior of French silver (indistinct maker's marks) and mother of pearl mounted sewing accessories, bottles and instruments, with waisted sides on small bun feet, one missing, 24.5cm wide, 18cm deep, 11.5cm high (9 1/2in wide, 7in deep, 4 1/2in high)

Henriette (Annie) de Rothschild was married briefly to Lady Elizabeth's uncle Eliot Constantine Yorke, the fourth son of Admiral Charles Philip Yorke, 4th Earl of Hardwicke. Eliot died five years after their wedding on 11 February 1873.
