Three Male Dancers
Kakejiku (hanging scroll), ink and colours on paper in silk mounts: Three dancers in court dress, one wearing an eboshi (court cap), the other two in nagabakama (long trousers), all three holding fans; with signature Shōjō Kyōsai and seals Shuchū Gaki (Drunken Demon in his Cups) and Ichiji senshi (One hour, a thousand branches); with an old inscribed wood storage box and a cardboard slipcase
Overall: 165 × 46.5cm (65 × 18 1/4in); image: 101 × 34cm (39 3/4 × 13 3/8in) (2).
